Director of Technical Services
(4 weeks off in the summer)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to train individuals and groups of people. Knowledge of instructional and administrative software applications. Basic knowledge of how data is managed, organized, and processed. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate tasks effectively. Ability to handle detail with accuracy. Can explain technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing. Works well with others and builds good working relationships.
Support Services
- Assist staff with software applications and school devices, offering advice, problem-solving, and technical information.
- Keep the website up to date with current information.
- Support admin software applications and integrations.
- Update Sustain donation to ensure accurate donor records and assist with frequent alumni communication.
- Help parents with using online applications.
- Assist the Director of Public Relations and Advancement with marketing, school tours, communication, promotional materials, weekly BA Bulletin, social media, and events.
- Assist with maintaining/tracking accurate student data.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
Instructional Services
- Integrate educational technology into the curriculum and support teachers with implementation across all grade levels.
- Manage and maintain rostering in software systems to ensure seamless integration of edtech tools, including textbook access and digital applications, with a readiness to quickly learn any required skills.
- Ensure compliance with digital learning policies and student data privacy regulations.
- Assist the Technology Director in the selection, implementation, and management of digital learning tools, providing expert input on their educational rigor and alignment with curriculum objectives.
- Provide professional development and ongoing support for teachers using instructional technology.
- Serve as the first point of contact for teachers’ educational technology questions, escalating technical issues to the Technology Director’s team when necessary.
- Stay informed on emerging trends and best practices in educational technology.
Student Services
- Help students with basic computer skills and device-related issues.
- Assist students in accessing all software applications.
- Serve as the first point of contact for students’ technology-related questions, escalating technical issues to the Technology Director’s team when needed.
- Capable of stepping in and taking on responsibilities in the absence of the Technology Director, Director of Public Relations.
Preferred/required skills or experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Instructional technology, or a related field preferred..
- Previous experience in a non-profit or school setting is preferred but not required.
- Mastery of communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
- Proficiency with current technology for the performance of duties
- Position requires summer work with four weeks off in the summer
